Join us in developing a Tabletop Game Session from scratch in this 4-week workshop. Pick your favourite rules system, and bring some plot hooks, as we delve into the practical tools and digital wizardry that you can use to bring your game to life!

This will start with an example of playing a short round with traditional mediums and take it apart to figure out what is required to build on this digitally, then move through that process with the support of our friendly Lab Tech.

We'll look at how to source and create assets, what kind of resources are available to you and your players, and how everything can fit together to create fun and memorable experiences.

By the end of the workshop, you'll have created an encounter that you could run as a Game Master for your friends, and will have the tools you need to develop it further!

Make your own beautiful beast-based book!

Bestiaries are compendiums of beasts that were popular with the Ancient Greeks and revived in beautiful illustrated volumes during the Middle Ages (about 500-1500). Join children’s author Valija Evalds to explore the history of this gorgeous animal-y artform and make your own fantastical beast book.

Children must be accompanied by an adult but please only book a space for the child attending.

You’ll create your own spooky character in Scratch, then add sounds, animations, and effects to bring them to life!

Suitable for people aged 7 - 14. Children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult.

PAY WHAT YOU CHOOSE: Choose how much you pay for your tickets based on what’s right for you (from £0 to £10) and enjoy the event. Head to The Lab in Stroud and have a go at making your own customised jewellery using out state of the art equipment like laser cutters and 3D printers. Use materials like acrylic and wood to cut out letters and shapes before making earrings, bracelets and necklaces. No technical experience needed but a steady pair of hands recommended. You will have an expert Lab Technician on hand to help.

All materials and equipment required will be provided but please feel free to bring your own too.
