Event

Come and explore Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Maths in these super fun interactive workshops for 8 – 12 year olds. We cover a huge range of science-y topics through hands on creating and experimenting. Why do planes fly? How long would it take a cat to fall from a plane, and will it be okay? What even ARE bubbles and how can we make them better? Can I turn my sister into a drum kit? If you have a question, even better! Bring it along and we will figure out the answers, together.

It's free to attend, but if you would like to support us look for the donation boxes at our events. Your donation goes towards more fun, free, and educational events in the future.

You are encouraged to enjoy the fun with your child. Adults do not need to book a ticket.

12 Oct 2024 - 1:30 PM to 2:30 PMOnline event
Event

We are thrilled to announce more LEGO Inventor sessions at The Lab in Tewkesbury, designed especially to benefit our local young people. This opportunity has been made possible through Build Back Better funding. With heartfelt thanks to Councillor Cate Cody for their invaluable support, whose dedication to enrich the youth in our community has been instrumental in securing this funding. We look forward to seeing you at an upcoming event!

Learn how to overcome obstacles and solve problems around different themes using LEGO Spike Education kits and Scratch.

This is a fun and creative way to develop practical and digital skills. Don’t worry if you’ve never used a LEGO Spike kit or Scratch before, we’ll provide everything you need to get started and our friendly Lab Technician will be on hand to help.

Once you’re comfortable working with the tools you’ll be able to build and code your own creations!

Please note, spaces are limited so please book to confirm your place.

Suitable for people aged 7 - 14. Children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult.

PAY WHAT YOU CHOOSE: Choose how much you pay for your tickets based on what’s right for you (from £0 to £10) and enjoy the event. If you would like to donate after the event, then please use the donation boxes and contribute any amount you can. All additional proceeds will go towards providing other free events, projects and services at Gloucestershire Libraries.

Please note, all sales for paid events are final. This includes ‘pay what you choose’. Refunds are only given in limited circumstances:
