Having developed an early interest in culture, he studied Irish history and English literature at University College Dublin and became involved in its thriving student theatre scene. At the age of 26, Jordan published his first book, 'Night in Tunisia', which won a Somerset Maugham Award and the Guardian Fiction Prize and established him as a rising literary star. In 1992, Jordan's film 'The Crying Game' won the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay and the BAFTA Award for Best British Film. In his memoir, Jordan tells the story of his extraordinary life and career.
