The country town of Tewkesbury stands on a spit of gravel surrounded by two major rivers, the Severn and the Avon, and several smaller streams, which, to a great extent have formulated its shape and size. These rivers have brought change to the area in the form of trade, industry and increased population. They also led to severe flooding after the incessant rainfall of 2007. From images of buildings, streets and businesses to those of residents, workers and visitors to the town, this selection shows how Tewkesbury has developed over the years from a vibrant trading post to one of the nation's favourite tourist places. It also contains an interesting chapter on the recent flooding.
