Born in 1921 Geoffrey James Hurford contracted osteomyelitis at a young age. By the age of 21 he decided to lose both legs after years of hospitalization. He became a tailor and has lived a full and fascinating life which Lindsay Fairgrieve describes sensitively and humorously in this biography.
