La casa de la noche
Nesbo, Jo2024
Book
After the tragic death of his parents in a fire, Richard Elauved moves to the remote town of Ballantyne to live with his uncles. He quickly becomes one of the school's official outcasts, a status that worsens when a classmate named Tom disappears under mysterious circumstances. The strange, withdrawn, irritable, and taciturn new student is immediately blamed.
However, Richard witnessed what really happened to Tom: a horrifying scene in a telephone booth near the forest. Despite his account, neither the police nor anyone else believes him - except Karen, another marginalized student who urges him to uncover the truth.
Their investigation leads them to an old, abandoned manor house. Terrified and surrounded by insects, Richard discovers a man with an expressionless face watching him from a fourth-floor window. Soon after, he begins to hear voices.
